About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned professional to serve as our Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. This is a critical leadership role that will drive our organization's commitment to creating a workplace culture that values and celebrates diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive DEI strategy that aligns with our organization's mission, values, and goals.
  • Collaborate with management to develop initiatives that support staff and promote a culture of inclusion.
  • Design and implement equitable recruitment, hiring, retention, and promotion/pay practices.
  • Manage the annual DEI calendar, including planning and coordinating DEI events and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to advance staff's understanding of DEIB.
  • Establish ICL Employee Resource Groups to engage in and/or co-deliver DEIB related trainings and programs.
  • Collect and analyze data to assess the impact of DEIB initiatives.
  • Prepare regular reports for the executive team on DEIB progress and outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Social Sciences, Human Resources, Organizational Development).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a DEIB leadership role, preferably in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Experience nurturing inclusive organizational cultures focused on DEIB, and implementing practices around DEIB into systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Masters degree preferred.

  • Experience leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive DEI strategy in a non-profit organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify, navigate, and address challenges associated with DEI and anti-racism work.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and change direction as needed in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to problem-solve, be resourceful, and exercise good judgment.
  • Ability to interpret and draw inferences from quantitative data.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to motivate, collaborate, and negotiate with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships and partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent ICL with professionalism and honesty, consistently acting in an ethical manner.
  • Demonstrated excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
