POSITION OVERVIEW:

Penn State's College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) is on the lookout for a Marketing and Communications Coordinator to propel the college's strategic objectives and foster engagement with the wider community. This role demands a proactive mindset, collaborating with internal departments to grasp their priorities, resources, and aspirations, and aligning them with the broader college and University objectives. Under the guidance of the marketing and communications manager, the coordinator will convert this information into actionable strategic communication plans, oversee their tactical implementation, and adjust campaigns based on both quantitative and qualitative insights.

Additionally, the coordinator will contribute to the college by:
  • Facilitating daily operations by managing communication project requests and promoting cross-departmental collaborations and workflows
  • Creating strategies that define and highlight the college's brand identity
  • Utilizing marketing opportunities to boost student recruitment, alumni involvement, and research visibility
  • Producing content for news articles and feature stories, as well as promotional materials, including fact sheets, newsletters, web pages, social media initiatives, and digital displays
  • Ensuring all content and strategies comply with and are guided by Penn State brand standards

WORK ARRANGEMENT:

This is a hybrid position that combines remote and on-campus work.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

This role necessitates a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other essential qualifications include:
  • Ability to work independently to initiate projects and monitor progress
  • Possesses strong judgment and meticulous attention to detail
  • Capable of translating strategic goals and initiatives into engaging content across various formats
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Skilled in writing for diverse audiences, including prospective and current students, alumni, and the general public

$51,000 - $74,000.00
