Position Overview:

The Family Empowerment Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the effective provision of resources and referrals to all individuals accessing the Community Support Center. This role involves collecting and disseminating community data and reporting directly to the Director of Family Support Services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collects information regarding community needs from individuals visiting the Community Support Center.
  • Acts as the primary contact for inquiries and referrals at the Community Support Center.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive resource database of community organizations and government agencies, including contact details and services offered.
  • Serves as a liaison for a minimum of 25 individuals or families weekly, facilitating connections to community resources.
  • Provides administrative assistance to the Community Advisory Committee and the Director of Family Support Services.
  • Supports the Director in interdepartmental collaboration for partnership information.
  • Assists with front desk coverage at the Community Support Center as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in social or human services required.
  • Experience in a non-profit or social service setting serving under-resourced communities.
  • Familiarity with the local community is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills are required; experience in presentation and facilitation is a plus, particularly with youth.
  • Highly motivated with excellent customer service, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and demonstrate creativity is required.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including internet, Microsoft Office, and Excel is necessary.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to travel within the community as required.
