POSITION OVERVIEW

The Gastroenterology Physician is responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with gastrointestinal conditions. This role involves coordinating treatment plans for individuals with various digestive disorders, diseases, or abnormalities. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, physician assistants, dieticians, surgeons, pathologists, and pharmacists, the Gastroenterology Physician will serve as a specialist in their field, focusing on disease management and prevention.

The physician will conduct a range of diagnostic tests, such as blood tests, colonoscopies, and endoscopies. Proficiency in performing these procedures and interpreting the results is essential to effectively communicate findings to patients.

• Proven expertise in Gastroenterology diagnosis, intervention, and patient care management, with a thorough understanding of the scope of practice.
• Experience in performing and interpreting Colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, and analyzing Pathology Results.
• Preferred experience with ERCP.
• Training in ERCP, EGD, and Colonoscopies, with a minimum of 10-12 procedures annually.
• Ability to provide Gastroenterology consultations within 10+ hours of requests.
• Fellowship or certification from the American Association of Gastroenterology.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with conflict resolution abilities.
• Ability to work independently.

• Current medical license in California.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical School.
• Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine Residency program.
• Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology Fellowship program.
• Evidence of ongoing education and professional development to maintain licensure.
• Board Certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
• Subspecialty Certification from the American Board of Gastroenterology.
• Board certified or board eligible status.
