Gastroenterology Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Gastroenterology Physician is responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with gastrointestinal disorders. This role involves coordinating treatment plans for a range of conditions affecting the digestive system. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, physician assistants, dietitians, surgeons, pathologists, and pharmacists, the Gastroenterology Physician serves as a key expert in managing and preventing diseases.

Responsibilities include conducting various diagnostic tests such as blood work, colonoscopies, and endoscopies. Proficiency in performing these procedures and interpreting results is essential for effectively communicating findings to patients.

• Proven expertise in diagnosing and managing gastrointestinal conditions, with a thorough understanding of the Gastroenterology Physician's scope of practice.
• Experience in performing and interpreting Colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, and Pathology Results.
• Preferred experience with ERCP.
• Training in ERCP, EGD, and Colonoscopies, with a minimum of 10-12 procedures annually.
• Ability to provide Gastroenterology consultations within 10+ hours of requests.
• Fellowship or certification from the American Association of Gastroenterology.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with conflict resolution abilities.
• Ability to work independently.

• Valid California Medical License.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical School.
• Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine Residency program.
• Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology Fellowship program.
• Commitment to ongoing education and professional development to maintain licensure.
• Board Certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
• Subspecialty Certification from the American Board of Gastroenterology.
• Board certified or board eligible.
