Patient Access Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to join our team at San Jose Clinic. In this role, you will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments, registering patients, and managing the patient access department in the absence of the manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule patient appointments and register patients according to training guidelines.
- Ensure that required forms and documents are presented and explained at time of registration.
- Provide customer service to patients, families, and visitors.
- Manage waitlists and backfill open appointment slots.
- Record no-shows and cancellations in the Electronic Health Record system.
- Update and maintain patient account information accurately.
- Provide eligibility information to patients.
- Answer phone calls, assess needs, and determine appropriate actions.
- Address patient concerns and escalate to supervisor if necessary.
- Manage daily cash collection and reconciliation of cash drawer.
- Process patient referrals to internal specialties.
- Maintain established policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards.
- Act as patient advocate and liaison with various departments.
- Implement job responsibilities in a manner consistent with the San Jose Clinic Mission and Code of Conduct.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalency; college degree preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
- Minimum one to three years of experience in a medical office.
- Proficiently use computer medical management software.
