Position: Customer Service Engineer

Role Summary: The Customer Service Engineer will play a crucial role in providing technical support and after-sales service for Bodor Laser products. This position is essential for ensuring customer satisfaction and optimizing the use of our laser systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary contact for customers, delivering direct support for laser machinery via various communication channels.
  • Assist customers and staff in diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical issues with laser machines.
  • Monitor and track technical inquiries and requests from clients.
  • Manage customer schedules and follow up to ensure optimal usage of laser equipment.
  • Conduct mechanical repairs on laser systems at customer locations, determining the need for specialized resources or parts.
  • Interpret layout drawings and blueprints for equipment installation.
  • Maintain an inventory of replacement parts, ensuring availability through effective communication with customers and suppliers.
  • Identify and address safety concerns related to the machinery.
  • Provide training sessions for customers on equipment usage.
  • Document service activities and expenses through detailed reports.
  • Conduct failure mode analyses and recommend upgrades as necessary.
  • Support the integration and commissioning of complex automation projects as required.
  • Assist with heavy equipment handling, including loading and unloading as needed.
  • Travel regularly within designated territories.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in mechatronics, automation engineering, mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience with automated CNC machinery.
  • Hands-on experience in installing, repairing, and troubleshooting automated CNC systems.
  • Familiarity with engineering software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in technical writing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and remote communication tools.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated and accountable.
  • Ability to work under pressure and travel as required.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechatronics, automation engineering, or electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with automated CNC machinery.
