Program Engineering Manager

Actalent is seeking a highly skilled Program Engineering Manager to serve as a technical coordinator for engineering and design projects under a strategic underground program in California. This 8-10 year program aims to support wildfire hardening by moving above ground distribution level electricity systems to underground.

The successful candidate will work in office in San Diego on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with remote work on Mondays and Fridays. The role involves managing a team of engineers and designers, overseeing subcontractor deliverables, and ensuring that engineering and design processes meet client standards and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform various management, leadership, and quality responsibilities for the program technical team.
  • Manage work for utility projects and collaborate with subcontractors for a large, multi-million dollar program.
  • Provide QA/QC and reviews to ensure that engineering and design processes meet client standards, Californias policies, and industry standards related to civil engineering, electrical engineering, and safety.
  • Main communicator with the utility for engineering and design overview and updates.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • 8-15 years of experience with medium voltage underground utility distribution design and construction.
  • 4+ years of leadership experience managing complex program/project technical teams.
  • Demonstrated experience with California utilities.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
