Role Impact

As a Process Engineer, you will leverage your inquisitive nature and work alongside some of the most talented and diverse professionals globally. Your contributions will include:
  • Leading initiatives for Continuous Improvement and Product and Process Understanding (PPU) to enhance safety, optimize yields, boost productivity, and elevate process capabilities in manufacturing operations.
  • Developing and updating standard operating procedures, work instructions, and testing methodologies.
  • Effectively diagnosing defects and variations, conducting root cause analyses, and implementing systematic problem-solving techniques and robust solutions.
  • Engaging in proactive communication across all organizational levels to foster direction and positive transformations.
  • Providing support for a dynamic 24/7 operation, demonstrating a readiness to be on-call as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills

To ensure your success in this role from the outset, 3M requires the following minimum qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in process engineering within a private, public, government, or military setting.
Additional qualifications that may enhance your success in this role include:
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Five (5) years of process engineering experience in relevant environments.
  • Strong mechanical and/or chemical aptitude along with problem-solving capabilities; practical and hands-on experience complemented by analytical skills and data-driven decision-making.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies, Design of Experiments (DOE), and Statistical Analysis.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within cross-functional teams across various locations and divisions.
  • Capability to navigate through ambiguity and adapt to change.

  • Location: Flexible
Travel Requirements:
May include up to 5%.
