Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality patient care in a fast-paced cardiac unit. The RN prepares equipment and assists physicians during examinations and treatments. The RN administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors patient vital signs. The RN observes and maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress.
Responsibilities:
- Participate as primary nurse, associate nurse, team member, or team leader in patient care planning and implementation.
- Direct and assist in carrying out safe aseptic technique and procedures.
- Offer leadership and direction to support staff within the department.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
- One-year experience in nursing preferred.
- Current Texas State RN License.
- CPR (American Heart Association) certification.
- ACLS required within 6 months of hire/transfer date.
- EKG within 90 days of hire/transfer.
- NIHSS within 90 days of hire/transfer.
