This position is for a Lead International Trade Advisor within the International Trade Administration's Global Markets (GM), specifically in the Asia sector, focusing on South Asia.
Key Responsibilities
As a Lead International Trade Advisor, your role will encompass the following duties:

This job announcement may also be utilized to fill other Lead International Trade Advisor positions within the Department of Commerce in the same geographical area, provided the qualifications and specialized experience are met.
Employment Requirements
Applicants must be U.S. citizens. A successful background investigation is mandatory, which may include credit checks and reviews of financial issues, as well as assessments of certain criminal offenses and illegal drug use.
A probationary period may be required.
Selective Service Requirement:

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes extensive knowledge of U.S. trade policy, formulating and coordinating trade policy and export promotion strategies, conducting research and analysis for senior officials, and developing policy recommendations.
To qualify at the GS-15 level:
Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as:
In-depth understanding of U.S. trade policy; ability to formulate, coordinate, and guide trade policy and export promotion strategies; independent planning and conducting of research and analysis for senior officials; developing strategic recommendations for senior officials regarding international trade or commercial matters; fostering consensus through international negotiations; overseeing trade promotion operations; and effectively communicating relevant economic, trade, or commercial information to senior officials.
