International Trade Paralegal

Trustpoint is proud to partner with an Am Law 100 firm in their search for an International Trade Paralegal in their DC office. The firm offers a hybrid schedule, collegial environment and competitive compensation and benefits package. Successful candidates will have 4+ years' experience in international trade litigation.


Responsibilities:

  • Draft, analyze, and prepare legal documents.
  • Prepare draft communications for a supervising lawyer.
  • Collect, evaluate and summarize relevant facts and legal concept.
  • Attend client meetings, coordination meetings, and legal proceedings.
  • Provide legal project management supervise Project Assistants.
  • Maintain notary license in local jurisdiction.
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate time records regarding hours spent working for clients, firm, or other tasks.
  • Coordinate with supervising lawyers, supervising paralegals and Paralegal Manager when available for new assignments.
  • Accept accountability and responsibility for all work assignments.
  • Adhere to The National Federation of Paralegal Associations, Inc.’s “Model Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility.”
  • All candidates must be able to work at a computer screen for a sustained amount of time.


Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or Paralegal Certification from ABA approved program.
  • 4+ years experience in international trade, preferably within a law firm; previous experience with trade litigation required
  • Experience with electronic filings for the USDOC, USITC, and USCIT.
  • Cite Checking and Blue-booking experience.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of legal processes and practice-group specific procedures.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and practice-group specific software.
