Licensed Veterinary Technician

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver compassionate care to pet patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate medical records in line with hospital protocols.
  • Prepare and uphold the examination rooms and treatment areas.
  • Conduct physical assessments and document your findings.
  • Ensure pets remain calm and comfortable during procedures (often with gentle affection).
  • Prepare cost estimates for procedures and discuss financial responsibilities with clients.
  • Communicate necessary follow-up and home care instructions.
  • Stock clinic treatment areas and examination rooms, notifying the inventory manager when supplies need replenishing.
  • Assist the Veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures (including blood draws, patient preparation for surgery, anesthesia administration, and monitoring during surgery and recovery).
  • Care for all surgical instruments and ensure the operating room is properly stocked and ready for procedures.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) required.
