Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at Piedmont Healthcare PA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and a passion for delivering high-quality medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient health status and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Provide acute and chronic patient care, including taking histories, performing physicals, and administering medications.
  • Triage patient calls and evaluate patient problems.
  • Respond to emergencies and use CPR as necessary.
  • Document patient information and maintain accurate records.
  • Educate patients and families on health and wellness.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • BA/BS, MS preferred. Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program or approved nurse practitioner program.
  • Minimum of one-year experience as a physician assistant, preferably in a clinic setting. GI experience preferred.
  • Or minimum of three years of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting plus two years of nurse practitioner experience.
  • Maintain valid PA license for the state of North Carolina, certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. CPR certification as required.
  • Or maintains valid RN license for the state of North Carolina.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of acute and chronic care protocols, medication administration, and physical care.
  • Knowledge of patient assessment and measurement techniques.
  • Knowledge of health promotion principles and patient learning measurements.
  • Skill in gathering and analyzing patient data.
  • Skill in evaluating patient problems and providing appropriate advice or referral.
  • Ability to make responsible decisions within the scope of a dependent medical practitioner.
  • Ability to develop health education programs and materials.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team.
Work Environment

The Physician Assistant will work in a medical office and exam room setting, with frequent exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to a clinic. The ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively with a variety of people and have excellent communication skills.
