In this pivotal role, the Senior Manager will assist a diverse range of clients in the financial services sector, addressing their intricate business challenges from strategic planning to implementation.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Manager will:
- Deliver tax compliance, provision, and advisory services to partnerships, corporations, and S-corporations across various clients in the banking, investment, asset management, and capital markets sectors.
- Oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of assigned client engagements.
- Supervise and evaluate the work of tax staff on large and complex tax projects.
- Keep firm leadership and client management updated on engagement progress and any significant issues that arise.
- Conduct research on tax matters that may affect clients' federal, state, and local tax planning initiatives and business transactions, providing suitable solutions.
- Advise clients on tax structuring matters (both domestic and international) while serving as a strategic consultant for business analysis, working capital management, and partner profit sharing.
- Engage with the IRS and other state and local tax authorities on behalf of clients, representing them during potential tax audits.
- Participate in client proposals and contribute to new business development efforts.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- 9+ years of experience in Tax Compliance & Advisory.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- Prior experience in a Professional Services or Tax Consulting environment.
- CPA or equivalent qualifications.
- In-depth knowledge of tax issues impacting the Domestic and/or International Banking sectors.
- Thorough understanding of Public Accounting practices.
- Strong technical skills in FAS 109, FIN 48, tax provision preparation, audit and review, and corporate and partnership tax compliance.
- Familiarity with CCH Axcess tax software and other relevant tax technologies, including RIA Checkpoint and BNA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Exceptional analytical and research capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Highly organized.
- Advanced Degree (MST; J.D.; LLM).
