Our Operations division is in search of a seasoned Fleet Operations Supervisor to enhance our team. This pivotal role is essential to the Quality Carriers framework, focusing on nurturing relationships with a designated group of drivers to ensure a positive driving experience. The Fleet Operations Supervisor will also be accountable for assessing the availability of drivers and tractor capacity for daily dispatch, which directly influences revenue generation and asset utilization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engage with assigned drivers daily to optimize their hours and maximize their earnings while ensuring their standard of living is upheld.
  2. Collaborate with the Maintenance department to guarantee that all drivers and tractors are maintained to a high standard and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Quality Carriers' compliance standards.
  3. Maintain a comprehensive driver calendar to track requested time off and other compliance-related unavailability.
  4. Ensure accurate updates of drivers' hours of service in the Peoplenet system and make authorized adjustments as necessary.
  5. Provide guidance to drivers on safety, compliance, and service matters, including proper documentation of any counseling sessions.
  6. Oversee the completion of monthly Infiniti training and coordinate additional refresher courses based on driver performance evaluations.
  7. Assist Independent Contractors (ICs) in making informed business decisions regarding freight acceptance and prepare them for upcoming repair costs.
  8. Coordinate daily with the Dispatch Assistant to ensure all operational priorities are met.
  9. Work alongside the Terminal Manager to establish necessary disciplinary actions in line with Quality Carriers' Disciplinary Action Standard Operating Procedures, fostering the personal development of all drivers and ICs.

Qualifications:

Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with individuals.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; a 2-year business degree is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in the bulk transportation sector.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
