Medical Records Coordinator

Overview:
Texas Oncology Specialists is seeking a Medical Records Technician to support our Desoto location. This role will involve organizing, sorting, and filing patient information, preparing charts for visits, and ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities:- Scan and attach correspondence and electronic medical reports to patient charts
- Pull charts for scheduled appointments and ensure documentation is attached
- Print, mail, and fax patient chart information as requested
- Release medical records information according to State and Federal regulations
- Catalogue charts for storage and maintain electronic records
- Submit requests for chart retrieval and make copies of dictated interval notes
- Monitor physician dictation and alert physicians who are behind
- Keep a record of new patients for weekly physician meetings
- Provide back-up assistance to front office staff and send out dictations to referring providers
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 0-3 years' experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Knowledge of electronic health record systems
- Time Management, Organization, Attention to Detail, and Quality Focus skills needed
The Medical Records Technician will work in a fast-paced oncology/hematology clinic environment, exposed to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to the field.
