Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop technical plans, specifications, design elements, and reports pertinent to the construction of commercial structures.
  2. Organize and coordinate assigned engineering tasks effectively.
  3. Interpret design drawings for installation teams, identifying issues and communicating them to supervisors for resolution.
  4. Conduct technical and design calculations as needed.
  5. Investigate and propose solutions to drawing interpretation challenges, conflicts, and errors.
  6. Ensure all completed work adheres to relevant codes, drawings, and specifications.
  7. Prepare and distribute essential project documentation, including status reports, meeting notes, submittals, and material calculations.
  8. Offer technical support and guidance for project material control functions, including maintenance program implementation.
  9. Research and draft field design change requests to address engineering design issues.
  10. Create drawings and sketches to assist with construction tasks, change orders, and estimates.
  11. Provide accurate building control lines and elevations for precise measurement and material installation.
  12. Perform structural and design analysis, cost estimation, and scheduling.
  13. Analyze long-term plans, survey reports, maps, and other data to design and plan projects.
  14. Prepare cost estimates for materials, equipment, or labor to assess project feasibility.
  15. Monitor and document potential cost changes on projects, reporting findings to the Project Manager to maintain accurate cost perspectives.
  16. Support project engineers and superintendents with field operations.
  17. Collaborate with safety personnel as necessary.
  18. Assist the Project Manager in subcontract and purchase order processes, ensuring proper tracking.
  19. Help prepare monthly progress billings for submission and monitor responses to ensure timely payments and cash flow.
  20. Ensure all submittals are expedited to avoid project delays.
  21. Facilitate proper project closeout, including submission of all necessary documents, warranties, and releases.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role or related field.
  • Proficient understanding of technical plans, specifications, and design elements related to commercial construction.
  • Experience in structural and design analysis.
  • Familiarity with cost estimating processes.
  • Experience in pre-project planning, including construction and submittal schedules.
  • Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
