Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager plays a crucial role in the planning, execution, and oversight of projects, ensuring they are completed successfully within defined parameters of scope, budget, and timeline. This position is responsible for managing all phases of the project lifecycle, collaborating closely with stakeholders to keep them informed of progress and potential challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the planning, execution, and coordination of both internal resources and external consultants for capital construction projects, aligning with organizational objectives.
  2. Collaborate with the Project Sponsor and team to define project scope, clarify limitations, and identify stakeholders. Establish objectives and success metrics for project evaluation.
  3. Identify project requirements, sequence activities, and develop a comprehensive schedule that allocates resources effectively. Create a detailed work plan outlining necessary activities for successful project completion.
  4. Manage changes and monitor risks throughout the project lifecycle. Utilize appropriate tools to measure project performance and communicate financial variances in a timely manner.
  5. Conduct project closeout tasks as per company policies, documenting lessons learned and organizing project documentation for future reference.

Additional Duties:

  1. Perform other assigned tasks as necessary.
  2. Participate in storm response duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree required.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a utility or regulated environment, with proven experience managing capital projects.

Skills:

  • Strong commitment to safety and ethical standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Ability to analyze project schedules and develop efficient strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and contract administration capabilities.

Work Environment:

This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of two days in the office, with flexibility based on departmental needs. Regular meetings with clients may involve occasional travel.

Data Governance:

Utilize data effectively to inform business decisions and support data stewardship initiatives.
