- Ensure timely delivery of design work packages while adhering to budget constraints.
- Lead project monitoring and control efforts, including schedule maintenance, updates, meeting documentation, risk assessment, and change management.
- Oversee the prioritization and tracking of engineering design progress, executing tasks across various functional areas, including engineering support.
- Facilitate discussions regarding project scope and requirements with technical teams and clients.
- Actively contribute to the development of optimal technical solutions for projects.
- Comprehend and apply relevant standards such as CMMI, CENELEC, AREMA, IEEE, and IPC.
- Communicate project objectives effectively to the team, ensuring alignment with the project timeline.
- Maintain proper configuration management, including document handling and transmission processes.
- Take responsibility for the engineering solutions provided.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering or as a lead systems/design engineer for engineering applications.
Project Management Experience:
- Proficient in budget management and control.
- Skilled in resource allocation and task management.
- Extensive knowledge of engineering lifecycles, delivery processes, and hardware/software integration.
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, scheduling tools (such as MS Project or Primavera), requirements management systems, and software configuration tools.
- Proven experience in managing small to medium-sized projects and teams.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities in guiding cross-functional teams with diverse skill sets.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities.
- Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or equivalent technical background.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the rail or rail transit sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with Wayside Engineering products and project deliverables.
- Previous involvement in supporting bids and proposals for new projects.
- Experience in overall systems architecture design and mission-critical control systems.
- Leadership experience in either functional or project management roles.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree, Associate Degree, or high school diploma in a technical field or equivalent technical experience.
