The Senior Electrical Engineering Project Leader will oversee the execution of estimates, design, contracting, and supervision of significant enhancements to plant facilities and processes.
The primary objectives for project implementation include minimizing disruptions to ongoing production during project execution, leveraging both existing and cutting-edge technologies, and ensuring swift project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:

Carry out duties in accordance with the Quality Systems Manual procedures.Examine drawings and submissions from vendors, contractors, and consultants to confirm adherence to design goals and contract specifications.
Oversee contractors during construction projects, ensuring that construction practices align with plant specifications and standards. Proactively address and resolve any issues that arise on-site. Act as a liaison among consultants, contractors, and management to coordinate construction efforts and ensure compliance with established schedules.
Organize necessary shutdowns for tie-ins and other activities in collaboration with the production department and contractors to minimize operational disruptions.
Conduct field verification and update existing plant drawings as necessary for project designs.
Offer design services for new process expansions and modifications to existing installations. Collaborate with maintenance and production departments to identify optimal solutions.
Prepare bidding documents, cost estimates, timelines, and payback calculations for engineering and construction initiatives.
Provide computer-aided drafting services utilizing AutoCAD. Update and transfer existing drawings to AutoCAD and create new drawings as required for upcoming projects.
Facilitate the check-out and start-up of new and modified systems within the plant to meet production and maintenance requirements. Identify issues in new systems and propose effective solutions.
Assist Technical Supervisors, fellow Engineers, and Area Managers in diagnosing system challenges and ensuring long-term cost-effective solutions.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (AE or higher) or equivalent practical experience.
Proficient understanding of technical principles related to industrial mechanical processes and electrical equipment, including but not limited to:
- Piping systems
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Material selection
- Power distribution
Familiarity with relevant codes, including but not limited to NFPA, NEC, ISA, and IBC. Ability to learn CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) systems.
Knowledge of Motor Control Centers (MCCs), remote I/O devices, PLC input and output cards, and low, medium, and high voltage systems. Understanding of low and medium voltage variable frequency drives, AC and DC drives, common bus AC drives, and high voltage switchgear. Capable of interpreting electrical circuit diagrams and engineering schematics.
