Job Summary

The DC Department of Human Resources is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Trial Attorney to join its team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, overseeing the daily operations of the Conciliation Unit and providing legal services to the community.

About the Role

The Supervisory Trial Attorney will be responsible for managing a team of attorneys, providing guidance and support to ensure the effective handling of child support cases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child support litigation, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

The Supervisory Trial Attorney will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the Conciliation Unit
  • Providing legal services and advice to subordinate staff
  • Managing a team of attorneys and providing guidance and support
  • Developing and implementing strategies for handling child support cases
  • Representing the Attorney General and the Department at meetings and conferences

Requirements

To be successful in this role, the Supervisory Trial Attorney will need to have:

  • A Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school
  • Considerable prior experience handling complex child support litigation
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
