Overview

The Logistics Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient execution of daily operational strategies and plans. This position is tasked with overseeing, directing, and allocating resources effectively, while ensuring that all team members are informed and compliant with essential processes. The ultimate goal is to meet safety, quality, efficiency, and financial performance indicators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of at least two full-time exempt direct reports, focusing on hiring, coaching, and developing skills.
  • Direct the operational functions of the facility, ensuring that productivity goals are met across all shifts.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork and safety within the organization.
  • Ensure that production, quality, and safety objectives are consistently achieved.
  • Review and validate the accuracy of production and inventory reports.
  • Coordinate operational aspects of the company's excellence programs and conduct regular audits for compliance.
  • Manage departmental budgets, including staffing levels and overtime, to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving inventory accuracy and shipment precision.
  • Implement process enhancement programs using quality management methodologies.
  • Assist senior management with special projects as needed.
  • Inspire team members to achieve high standards in productivity, safety, and quality.
  • Collaborate with various departments to enhance overall productivity and respect diverse backgrounds.
  • Set and maintain performance plans, continuously seeking improvements in processes.
  • Promote a safe working environment through effective safety training and preparedness.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent military experience.
  • A minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a logistics setting, with a focus on warehouse management systems and talent management.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a capacity to guide other leaders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience with quality management methodologies, such as Six Sigma, is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical skills and previous experience in team building.
  • Exposure to budget planning and profit/loss management is a plus.
