Job Title: Critical Care Specialist

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Specialist to join our team at VCU Health - MCV Physicians. As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

About the Position: The ideal candidate will have a strong background in anesthesiology and critical care medicine, with excellent communication and clinical skills. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre-anesthetic evaluation, intraoperative anesthetic care, postoperative rounds, resuscitation and intensive care to patients as assigned by the Department Chair or Chairs delegate.
  • Direct the activities of nurse anesthetists as assigned by the Chair or Chairs delegate.
  • Teach residents, medical students, student nurse anesthetists and others on bedside clinical teaching.
  • Participate in didactic teaching programs of the Department at this Institution and attend conferences, rounds, and staff meetings as required by the Chair.

Salary Information: The estimated salary for this position is $300,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • M.D. or D.O.
  • ABA Board eligible/certified in Anesthesiology and/or certified/eligible for Critical Care Certification.
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia.
  • Eligible for employment in the United States.
  • Good communication, clinical and teaching skills.
