Job Summary

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking a skilled Equipment Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the preparation, implementation, and administration of our Equipment Management System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and validate physical identification and labeling of all equipment
  • Maintain equipment data, including serial and model numbers, description, and pertinent machine modifications
  • Assist and support Division Staff, Operations, Financial Services, and Procurement by providing reports, analysis, and interpretations of equipment statistics and financial information
  • Assist with Capital and Operating Budgets as required
  • Data entry to ensure all assets are entered into the Equipment Management System
  • Lead in helping Plant Managers establish, maintain, and direct mobile and fixed equipment preventive maintenance programs
  • Maintain oil analysis system, including setting up new equipment, transferring equipment, updating lubes and quantities, and training end users on system requirements
  • Monitor oil sampling program for fixed and mobile equipment assets, recommending actions for results out of tolerance and trending acceptable results to predict failure
  • Generate customized, standard, and ad-hoc reports outlining Equipment Costs for budget planning and Projected Replacement of mobile equipment
  • Review and provide reporting on Open Work Orders with Plant and Area Management to ensure alignment with Vulcan's best practices
  • Process and document equipment transfers and advise on the documentation of maintenance actions for mobile equipment assets
  • Demonstrate leadership in directing the planning, design, and establishment of data entry standards used in the Equipment Management System
  • Ensure dependable application of Equipment Management System procedures, data integrity, and security assignments required to interface maintenance, procurement, and inventory functions
  • Provide support to end users through both on-site and remote communications
  • Review reports throughout the month and at month-end to ensure that the system is being properly utilized and follows up with users and managers when problems are determined
  • Responsible for executing equipment transfers with the Equipment Management System
  • Maintain equipment numbers on Accounting Database and in the Procurement System
  • Participate in month-end accounting functions with regard to diesel fuel/gasoline inventory and accounting and fuel allocation

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and computer skills
  • Experience administering databases or deployed applications and report writing is desired
  • Experience in managing data of fixed and mobile equipment in the aggregates industry is a plus
  • Must be proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Must be comfortable with computer systems and learning new software
  • Able to communicate with employees over various levels of the organization
