Position: Equipment Maintenance Specialist
Role Summary: The Equipment Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that machinery operates efficiently by performing necessary repairs and adjustments in accordance with manufacturer specifications and production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct repairs on machinery as required.
- Execute and document preventative maintenance tasks as needed.
- Provide timely and effective troubleshooting.
- Exhibit proficiency in minor electrical repairs and troubleshooting on motors, VFDs, PLCs, and both high and low voltage applications.
- Safely work within electrical panels, comprehending the function of all internal components.
- Interpret wiring schematics and machine manuals accurately.
- Troubleshoot safety switches and safety circuitry effectively.
- Perform welding tasks and utilize an acetylene torch.
- Operate pneumatic controls competently.
- Conduct maintenance on hydraulic systems.
- Regularly maintain gearboxes and conveyor systems.
- Ensure a clean, sanitary, and safe working environment.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Comply with all safety and security policies and procedures.
- Meet all food safety and quality system requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory, customer, and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) standards.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing setting is required.
Additional Skills and Considerations:
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Must demonstrate respect, approachability, and a team-oriented attitude while fostering strong working relationships.
- Proficient in reading, writing, performing basic mathematical calculations, and accurately recording necessary data.
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed.
- Capability to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend with full body motion.
- Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team in a high-energy environment.
- Must be comfortable working in wet and/or humid conditions, with occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Exposure to nut allergens may occur.
