We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodial Services Associate to join our team at UMass Amherst. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our campus facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general janitorial duties, including cleaning and maintaining campus facilities, removing trash and waste, and replenishing supplies.
- Clean bathrooms, including toilets, urinals, sinks, and showers, to ensure a clean and sanitary environment.
- Clean building interiors, including dusting, washing, and polishing walls, ceilings, and floors.
- Maintain carpet and hard floor surfaces, including vacuuming, shampooing, and stripping.
- Keep exterior areas clean, including sweeping, raking, and shoveling snow.
- Perform simple general maintenance, including replacing belts, tightening screws, and cleaning equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service and promote a positive work environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English.
- Ability to physically perform manual tasks, climb stairs, climb ladders, lift, and bend.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to perform manual labor for extended periods. The successful candidate must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and to lift up to 50 pounds.
