Industrial Automation Specialist

BlueScope is seeking an experienced Industrial Controls Technician to join our Maintenance and Engineering team. This role will be responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining low to moderately complex automation equipment, with a focus on downstream business.
The successful candidate will have a strong analytical and troubleshooting ability, with a solid understanding of control systems and automation principles. They will be proficient in PLC programming and have experience with standard industrial networking protocols.

Key Responsibilities:- Design and install new or replacement automation equipment
- Maintain and troubleshoot existing automation systems
- Develop and implement asset strategies and reliability programs for electrical equipment
- Support the maintenance team with daily activities and project improvements
- Train operations and maintenance users in new systems operations and maintenance activities
- Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or trade school in the electrical field
- 4+ years of relevant experience in an industrial control technician capacity
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
- Solid understanding of control systems and automation principles
- Proficient in PLC programming
- Experience with standard industrial networking protocols
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years' automation/robotics/mechatronics project work
- Experience programming Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLCs
- 5 years or more of experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
This role requires occasional travel to ASC Profiles LLC locations, requiring day travel or overnight travel.
