Job Overview:

Summary:
The Vice President of Quality Assurance is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and oversight of the Education, Medical Staff support services, and Performance Improvement & Patient Safety Programs within the organization. This role is pivotal in managing interdisciplinary performance improvement initiatives in collaboration with staff, management, and Medical Staff, as guided by the Quality and Safety Committee.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Formulate and execute strategies aimed at enhancing quality and safety metrics while monitoring outcomes effectively.
2. Ensure the timely collection, coordination, and statistical validation of all quality and safety data.
3. Respond to both internal and external data requests while maintaining the integrity and security of the quality and safety database.
4. Provide guidance to facilitate the integration and communication of proactive safety plans to mitigate risks within the organization.
5. Collaborate closely with hospital leadership and Medical Staff, reporting to the Quality and Safety Committee, Medical Executive Committee, and Board of Directors.
6. Oversee Infection Control initiatives in partnership with the Infection Control Practitioner.

Licensure/Certification:
Minimum:
Registered Nurse License is mandatory.

Education:
Minimum:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred:
Master's Degree and CPHQ Certification are advantageous.

Experience:
1. 3-5 years of experience in quality management within a healthcare setting.
2. Proven experience in hospital management, engaging with both internal and external stakeholders, including medical staff and patients/families.

Qualifications/Skills:
Reports directly to the President and CEO.
Supervises three Directors in Infection Prevention, Patient Safety, and Quality.
Requires a dynamic leader with a comprehensive understanding of quality, infection prevention, patient safety, and risk management. Must possess the ability to cultivate leadership and facilitate team development.

Special Qualifications:
1. Ability to conceptualize and operate within a total systems framework in healthcare.
2. Extensive knowledge of patient care and hospital systems.
3. Capacity to act as a change agent from a systems perspective to drive improvement.
4. Strong analytical and financial skills to assess current processes and outcomes related to quality improvement.
5. Proficient in delivering informative reports to diverse audiences in a clear and timely manner.
