Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Operations Team Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our warehouse, ensuring that products are received, selected, and shipped efficiently and effectively.

Job Description

The Warehouse Operations Team Lead will be responsible for:

  • Establishing and modifying daily work schedules to meet warehouse needs
  • Coordinating job activities and tasks of direct reports, ensuring timely and effective completion
  • Overseeing the daily receiving and shipping of products, ensuring compliance with established guidelines
  • Monitoring processes for inbound and outbound deliveries, identifying areas for improvement
  • Developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results
  • Establishing and communicating job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
  • Modeling the company strategy and communicating core values to create a sense of teamwork and membership
  • Collaborating with other divisional operational areas and communicating relevant information
  • Providing input and recommendations to the Warehouse Operations Manager to improve the operation
  • Monitoring service providers within the warehouse to ensure acceptable performance
  • Ensuring communication with the in-house carrier regarding daily schedule changes and needs
  • Monitoring the competitive environment and informing management of necessary adjustments
  • Recommending personnel for advancement and termination as appropriate
  • Addressing warehouse issues, escalating or referring concerns to peers or management as needed
  • Overseeing the activities of warehouse personnel, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency
  • Leading, planning, and facilitating regular Warehouse Associate meetings
  • Training and developing direct reports to achieve their maximum potential
  • Observing and evaluating employees' work performance, providing feedback and coaching as needed
  • Supervising the timely, accurate, and efficient storage of product, supplies, and equipment
  • Supervising warehouse teams to ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, maintenance, and operational safety guidelines and procedures
  • Overseeing warehouse personnel to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Monitoring and managing controllable expenses, providing inventory and efficiency results
  • Ensuring a safe environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, maintaining equipment in proper working order
Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to recommend, interpret, and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of products and services of the company
  • Ability to manage direct reports, including training, development, motivation, retention, and discipline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to evaluate work performance and motivate behavior change among direct reports
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with internal and external parties
  • Negotiation, conflict management, problem-solving, and organizational skills
