ABOUT FOOD & BEVERAGE

The Food & Beverage team is dedicated to providing a consistent and enjoyable experience for our guests by ensuring that products are fresh, well-stocked, and accurately priced. This team excels in operations, processes, and efficiency, overseeing all aspects of food and beverage services including inventory management, food safety, and presentation.

As a Starbucks Barista, you will gain:

  • Insight into guest service fundamentals and the ability to foster a guest-first culture within Starbucks.
  • Skills to deliver a consistent Starbucks experience by crafting high-quality beverages and food items.
  • Experience in managing food quality and freshness.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.

Your typical responsibilities will include:

  • Providing an outstanding guest experience by connecting with customers and delivering quality beverages and food throughout all operational hours.
  • Maintaining adherence to Food and Beverage Standards, as well as Starbucks brand and food safety protocols.
  • Executing food and beverage processes, including deliveries, replenishment, and inventory management.
  • Staying informed about promotional activities within Starbucks.
  • Creating a welcoming dining environment for guests at all times.
  • Engaging with guests to exceed their expectations based on Starbucks standards.
  • Producing items according to specifications and following department routines.
  • Monitoring temperature-sensitive food items as per best practices.
  • Completing all cleaning tasks in the Starbucks area as outlined in best practices.
  • Following proper packaging and labeling guidelines for food products.
  • Identifying and processing damaged or expired items according to best practices.
  • Ensuring accurate inventory levels by placing store-initiated orders.
  • Executing sampling best practices.
  • Creating a friendly atmosphere by greeting all guests authentically.
  • Observing guests to understand their needs and tailoring your approach accordingly.
  • Being knowledgeable about store products and services to assist guests effectively.
  • Expressing gratitude to guests for choosing to shop with us.
  • Completing all required training for Starbucks.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Working safely and identifying hazards to ensure a safe environment for all.
  • Supporting guest services such as order pick-up and maintaining compliance with relevant laws.
  • Performing other duties as needed based on business requirements.

  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Quick problem-solving skills to address guest inquiries.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes.

ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS

  • Accurate handling of cash register operations.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Efficiently handling and moving merchandise, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Flexibility in work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
