Harbortown Treatment Center is actively seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to contribute to our mission in the field of substance abuse treatment. The selected candidate will be responsible for the morning administration of medications, commencing at 6 AM, and may also be required to work on select weekend mornings.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the safe and efficient administration of Methadone to clients dealing with opioid dependency.
- Dispense Methadone doses to patients while supervising the ingestion of the medication on-site.
- Continuously monitor the physical and mental well-being of patients during the dispensing process.
- Oversee urine collection procedures to guarantee the integrity of specimens.
- Prepare urine samples for transportation to external laboratories.
- Maintain thorough documentation of medical records, clinical observations, and Methadone inventory management.
- Collaborate closely with other members of the treatment team.
- Engage in staff training sessions and clinical meetings as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Director and Medical Doctors.
- Ideal candidates should possess a strong commitment to the substance abuse sector, demonstrate teamwork, exhibit organizational skills, and possess excellent interpersonal communication abilities.
- Active LPN or RN license in the State of Michigan.
- Current knowledge of addiction issues, including HEP-C and HIV, is preferred.
- Proficiency in using computers and relevant software is advantageous.
- Ability to perform various nursing procedures as necessary.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are preferred.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Innovative problem-solving skills to enhance program effectiveness.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to set objectives and make independent judgments.
- Experience in addiction assessment and needs identification is preferred.
