We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team at the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled mechanical repairs, diagnostic inspections, preventative maintenance, tire replacement and repairs, welding and fabrication, and use of diagnostic testing equipment and modifications to automotive and other machinery.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with vehicles and equipment
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance
- Conduct diagnostic inspections to identify potential problems
- Weld, fabricate, and modify equipment as needed
- Use diagnostic testing equipment to troubleshoot issues
- Five (5) years of mechanic experience, preferably in maintenance and repair of equipment
- Knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools, equipment, and technology of the mechanic trade
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical strength and agility sufficient to perform the work of the classification
