About the Job

Deschutes County Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Specialist II to join our Crisis Team. As a key member of our team, you will provide phone and face-to-face crisis screening and referral services to individuals and families in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide crisis assessments and services to individuals and families in our community.
  • Manage clinical care of individuals admitted to respite unit.
  • Coordinate care with community partners for those we serve in crisis services.
  • Coordinate within crisis team to provide seamless care at a 24-hour facility.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy or a behavioral science field.
  • One (1) year of experience in the behavioral health field.
  • Registration/certification requirements under the Mental Health and Addiction Counseling Board of Oregon (MHACBO) for Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current licensure without restrictions from a recognized governing board in Oregon as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
  • Experience providing crisis intervention.
  • Experience working with mental health, substance use concerns and dual diagnosis.
