About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Hardware Quality Engineer to join our Operations Quality - Continuous Improvement Team at Raytheon Technologies. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving process enhancements and quality improvements across our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement process control techniques to improve factory metrics and reduce variation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize areas for improvement and drive containment and corrective action.
  • Perform process walks, operator observations, and lead team discussions to drive process enhancements and standardize data entry.
  • Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives using baseline metrics and future demand.
  • Identify supplier escapes and ensure proper containment and backflow to the Supplier Quality Management team.
  • Calculate Return on Investment (ROI) and align with Program and Manufacturing teams for identified CI project opportunities.
  • Verify and validate improvements to understand effectiveness and identify opportunities for leverage across similar processes and programs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or other technical field of study.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years related Quality Engineering experience.
  • Manufacturing process experience in assembly, inspection, or test.
  • Experience with industry technical standards.
  • Experience in identifying root cause and initiating/implementing effective short-term and long-term corrective actions.
  • Experience in development/usage of Quality metrics that may be used to drive true root cause and long-term corrective action.
  • Previous experience with MRP systems and Shop Floor Management Tools.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of key process characteristics and ability to implement effective process control techniques.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems.
  • CORE, Six Sigma, Shainin Red X, ASQ Certifications.
  • Proficient in the use of Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping.
  • Experienced in Product/Process Failure Modes & Affects Analysis, Regression Analysis.
  • Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis and Design of Experiments.
  • Able to facilitate cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities.
  • Existing US DoD Secret (or higher) clearance.
