Job Title: Peer Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with mental health conditions and substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide peer support and guidance to individuals with mental health conditions and substance use disorders.
  • Assist individuals in developing and achieving their recovery goals.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and community agencies to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in training and education programs to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations and leaders to promote cultural competence and recovery-oriented services.
Requirements:
  • Active and current Peer Recovery Specialist or Peer Support Specialist certification in the state of Kentucky or ability to obtain certification within 12 months of employment.
  • 4+ years of case management experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with community resources.
  • 1+ years of experience with demonstrated understanding of the principles of recovery and resiliency and lived experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with the Medicaid population.
  • Proven intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and ability to access multiple web applications.
  • Reside within a commutable distance to Lexington and surrounding communities in Kentucky.
  • Current and non-restricted state of Kentucky driver's license and state-required insurance and access to reliable transportation with the ability to travel 75% of the time within 60 miles of territory assigned.
  • Proven access to a designated quiet workspace in your home (separated from non-workspace areas) with the ability to secure Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven bilingual in (English/Spanish).
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate training events.
