Key Responsibilities
  • Build and Maintain Relationships

Establish and maintain strong relationships with producers, brokers, and other insurance professionals through superior product and services knowledge, territory management practices, and excellent customer service.

Achieve Sales Goals

Meet office and personal sales goals through consultation, negotiations, and positioning of Unum offerings within profit and product design guidelines.

Identify and Procure New Sales Opportunities

Identify and pursue new customer sales opportunities in partnership with brokers in the territory.

Execute Renewal Strategy

Develop and execute an annual renewal strategy to support office renewal goals.

Manage Inforce Business

Manage the inforce block of business to build new and integrated sales opportunities with existing clients.

Represent Unum Products

Represent Group, Dental/Vision, and Voluntary products in the local market.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree

A bachelor's degree is required for this role.

Licensing

Licensure to solicit insurance in the states within the assigned territory is required.

Product Knowledge

A thorough understanding of Unum's products and services is essential.

Leadership Presence

A leadership presence with internal and external partners is required, along with strong relationship-building skills.

Communication Skills

Superior interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are necessary for success in this role.

Analytical Skills

The ability to quickly analyze, adapt, and apply new information and concepts is essential.
