- 3)Demonstrates proficiency in interpreting indicators of sterility for instruments or trays.
- 4)Maintains sterile supplies within the surgical field.
- 5)Collects and hands off surgical specimens to the registered nurse.

- 1)Communicates with CPD regarding the reprocessing of instruments. Safely manages contaminated instruments during storage and transfer. Executes room turnovers by disposing of all linens and waste, and cleans the room as per protocols. Processes specimens for pathology as required. Documents patient information accurately.

- Performs unit secretary duties as assigned. The Unit Information Secretary plays a crucial role in managing unit operations through effective oversight of patient medical records, coordination of services, and transcription of orders.
- 1)Processes patient charges for various services and ensures proper scheduling of procedures.
- 2)Verifies patient identification and registration processes. Addresses discrepancies in care level assignments.
- 3)Monitors medical records for new orders and alerts nursing staff as necessary.
- 4)Ensures medical records are complete and accurate for patient discharge or transfer.
- 5)Communicates outstanding orders and pertinent information to relevant team members.
- 6)Maintains unit logs and reports as required by hospital leadership.
- 7)Facilitates equipment replacement and repair reporting.
- 8)Participates in inventory and distribution of clerical supplies.
- 9)Maintains an updated supply of patient forms and manages outdated forms.
- 10)Responds promptly and courteously to inquiries at the nurses' station, demonstrating positive customer service.

Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to communicate effectively while wearing a mask.
- If the position involves direct patient care or contact, the following lifting requirement applies: Ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted. For patient lifts exceeding 35 pounds, or when the patient cannot assist, patient handling equipment is expected to be utilized, with at least one other associate when available. Unique patient lifting situations will be assessed individually.
