About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to join our team at Melrose/Wakefield Hospital, part of the Tufts Medicine system. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality and accessible healthcare to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of surgical procedures, including setting up individual case carts with appropriate instruments and equipment.
  • Perform the role of the scrub person during surgical procedures, maintaining aseptic technique and anticipating the surgeon's needs.
  • Carry out technical tasks, including applying electrocautery to clamps and assisting with the transfer of patients to designated rooms.
  • Collaborate with the RN and other personnel to ensure seamless patient care and efficient surgical procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program or Massachusetts's Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Surgical Technician certification through an accredited program or within 12 months of completing program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
