Research Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our Investigational Drug Services (IDS) team as a Research Pharmacist - Clinical Trials Specialist. This is a full-time position that will play a critical role in the support of clinical trial research conducted by the University of Miami.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and supervise the operation of the intravenous admixture program, with a focus on the preparation and monitoring of chemotherapeutic and investigational intravenous therapies.
- Ensure the accurate and efficient preparation and delivery of injectable chemotherapy and other medications for intravenous therapy.
- Verify dosage amounts and intravenous compatibilities, and review patient profiles and new orders to prevent drug interactions and contraindications.
- Train and supervise technical staff members, residents, and interns in established policies and procedures for hospital, clinics, and department.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable governmental and sponsor regulations, laws, and policies.
- Manage the preparation and review of investigational drug products.
- Participate in the reporting of unanticipated problems, adverse events, and clinical protocol deviations.
- Assist in marketing research activities to aid in new product development.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable governmental and sponsor regulations, laws, and policies.
- Serve as a resource to the public, healthcare professionals, and investigators in the development of investigator-initiated studies, including preparation of pharmacy manuals.
- Assist with the development of IDS Pharmacy policies and procedures.
- Maintain professional competency sufficient to meet the clinical needs of the IDS department, human subjects research office, and the University.
- Collect and document workload measurement statistics; provide other data, as required.
- Complete reports, including incident reports, adverse drug reaction reports, corrective action plans, etc.
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate investigational drug records.
- Perform clinical medication order review and verification of computerized physician order entry for investigational and standard of care medications.
- Oversee and instruct pharmacy learners (pharmacy students and residents) as it relates to clinical research pharmaceutical services.
- Pharm.D. degree
- Florida Licensed Pharmacist
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
