Position Objective: Oversee the Quality function to guarantee that all processes and protocols related to delivering a high-quality product are consistently adhered to.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary liaison with customer quality assurance representatives and quality system auditors.
- Lead quality and process enhancement initiatives across the organization.
- Provide Quality support to manufacturing, engineering, and operational teams through data administration, collection, and analysis aligned with industry standards for each product line.
- Plan, assign, and modify work priorities to fulfill daily, weekly, and monthly customer sales order demands.
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance in areas such as attendance, quality, and productivity.
- Ensure that all Quality team members receive appropriate training and cross-training as necessary.
- Prepare reports and deliver presentations as needed.
- Conduct and participate in meetings as required, including hosting biweekly Quality Metrics meetings.
- Perform audits to ensure ongoing compliance with all established processes and procedures.
- Encourage and actively participate in continuous improvement activities, including Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Manage the Quality Incident Report (QIR), Material Review Board (MRB), and Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) processes.
- Maintain the quality manual, including the initiation, review, and revision of Operational Instructions (OIs) and Company Standard Operating Procedures (CSOPs).
- Coordinate with relevant functions to ensure smooth transitions to sustained production activities.
Safety Compliance: Ensure that all tasks are executed in accordance with applicable Federal, State, Provincial, and Company safety and health regulations, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment where necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance or a related field.
- Over 10 years of progressive experience in the Quality Assurance domain.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience leading continuous improvement initiatives with measurable outcomes.
- Experience supervising a team of 10 or more employees.
- Proficiency in improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean; Black Belt certification is strongly preferred.
- Ability to effectively manage a dynamic team.
- Strong understanding of Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action with proven results.
- Familiarity with the latest revisions of ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
- Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position oversees 10 or more direct reports.
Travel Requirement: 5-10% travel may be required.
