Nemours Children's Health is seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Representative II to join our team in Malvern, Pennsylvania. As a key member of our therapy services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our outpatient therapy services department.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Registration and Scheduling: Accurately and timely register patients and schedule appointments for the department.
- Triage and Communication: Triage phone calls to the appropriate staff for responses, greet and respond to families and community service providers using customer service standards, and respond to telephone inquiries regarding appointments within 24 hours.
- Referral and Scheduling Coordination: Take patient referrals by phone, electronically, walk down, or mail, enter information in referral log or call back log adhering to response time guidelines, and record accurate patient demographics and insurance information into the scheduling system.
- Office Management: Maintain responsibility for the organization of the scheduling office, presenting a neat appearance to customers making appointments, and collaborate with supervisor to act as a resource preceptor for all new and existing program staff.
- Receptionist Duties: Answer the telephone using proper phone etiquette, receive patients, maintain the check-in log, and complete patient registration/check-in.
- Insurance and Authorization: Make initial insurance checks and inform families of the need for authorizations/referrals or out-of-network approvals, and refer families as appropriate to financial counselors as needed.
- Interpreter Services: Arrange for interpreter services or identify the need for language line when scheduling appointments.
- Education: High School diploma required.
- Experience: Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year experience required.
