Job Summary

The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results. As a key member of the healthcare team, the MLS is responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests, including blood and tissue analyses, to provide physicians with high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform analytical tests on biological specimens in a timely and efficient manner
  • Determine the acceptability of specimens and recognize factors that affect measurements and results
  • Perform quality control for all testing and meet established ranges before patient results are released
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work environment by performing equipment checks and troubleshooting laboratory equipment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Biochemistry through a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) approved program
  • MLS Medical Lab Scientist Certification or eligibility by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP)
  • Exemplary communication and teamwork skills
