Role Responsibilities and Qualifications

As an Emergency Medical Technician in the Emergency Department, you will:

  • Assess and mitigate safety risks while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in the clinical setting, prioritizing patient safety.
  • Execute procedures and monitoring tasks as directed by medical providers, ensuring accurate documentation of care in patient records.
  • Administer prescribed medications in accordance with established policies and respond appropriately to any adverse reactions.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive patient treatment plans that promote recovery.
  • Uphold patient privacy and the security of protected health information.
  • Contribute to a collaborative environment that supports high-quality patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited EMT-Paramedic training program.
  • At least one year of continuous experience on an Advanced Life Support Ground Unit as an EMT-P, demonstrating knowledge in pre-hospital medicine.
  • Preferred: One year of emergency services experience in a hospital environment.
  • Associate's Degree in Applied Sciences.
  • Current EMT-Paramedic licensure in Tennessee.
  • Nationally Registered EMT-Paramedic (NREMT-P).
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required within six months of hire.
  • Critical Care Paramedic Certification preferred.
  • BTLS/PHTLS certification preferred.
  • De-Escalation Training (e.g., CPI) required within six months of hire.
