Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Correctional Administrator, the Staff Services Manager I oversees the work performed by staff responsible for the region's Personnel, Training, budgets, and Facilities functions. Supervise staff who liaise with OIA Headquarters Administrative Services Unit (ASU), and the Budget Management Branch (BMB) for all fiscal matters. Responsible for administering and managing the Statewide Training Program within the assigned AIU region. In addition, the Staff Services Manager I assists and directs staff in the internal operations, which may include management of the AIU data and statistical performance measure tracking reporting, and supervision of staff responsible for AIU regional administrative functions

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the work performed by staff responsible for Personnel, Training, budgets, and Facilities functions

Working Conditions

Regular and consistent attendance is critical to the successful performance of this position. Must be regularly available and willing to work the hours necessary to meet the business needs.

If it is determined an applicant does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.

Candidates new to CDCR are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
