Job Summary

This position is for the Galveston location. As a key member of the University of Texas Medical Branch team, you will provide patient care and technical skills in the operation of ultrasound diagnostic equipment for diagnostic and evaluation purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the success of UTMB HealthCare Systems by providing high-quality patient care and technical expertise.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to acquire and reconstruct images, and document findings for interpretation by vascular surgeons.
  • Prepare summaries of technical findings for interpretation by ordering physicians.
  • Provide preliminary technical interpretations to ordering physicians.
  • Apply the profession's code of ethics in all aspects of practice.
  • Practice accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist rotating students, interns, and residents in their training and development.
  • Perform quality control measures to ensure optimal quality images.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and report them to the appropriate department.
  • Practice safety measures in ultrasound and Environment of Care.
  • Assist the Technical Manager/Director with the maintenance of laboratory accreditation via ICAVL and JCAHO.
  • Participate in research projects.
  • Maintain a high standard of medical ethics at all times.
  • Stay up-to-date with new procedures and technologies in vascular disease.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
