About the Role

Tetra Tech is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Planning Specialist to join our team in New York State and the Eastern United States. As a key member of our renewable energy and environmental consulting practice, you will be responsible for supporting our growing portfolio of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage renewable energy development projects from feasibility studies to project completion.
  • Develop and implement environmental planning strategies to ensure compliance with local and state regulations.
  • Provide permitting support and coordination with regulatory agencies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Prepare and submit reports and proposals to clients and regulatory agencies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
  • 8-10 years of professional consulting experience in environmental planning and permitting.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Prior experience with site development projects associated with utility scale and/or distributed generation solar energy projects in New York State is desirable.
  • Prior FERC experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ArcGIS.
  • Valid driver's license that meets Tetra Tech's insurance requirements.
