OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE:


Under the supervision of the Facilities & Safety Manager, the Maintenance Worker I is responsible for executing various tasks related to facility upkeep, cleaning services, grounds maintenance, and general operational support.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.0

FACILITY MAINTENANCE:
Engages in a diverse array of responsibilities concerning all organizational facilities, which encompasses all facets of building upkeep including electrical, plumbing, heating, carpentry, and any necessary repairs to organizational property and equipment. Responsibilities also include snow removal, landscaping, and maintenance of parking areas and driveways. Completes assigned tasks to ensure adherence to local and state regulations and collaborates with the Manager to achieve both short- and long-term objectives, alongside performing all required preventive maintenance tasks.

CLEANING SERVICES:
Conducts all aspects of facility sanitation, housekeeping, and cleaning duties as assigned. This includes fundamental tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, mopping, sweeping, and waste disposal.

3.0

GROUNDS MAINTENANCE:
Undertakes all facets of grounds maintenance for organizational facilities as assigned. This may involve snow removal, spreading sand and salt, mowing, raking, trimming shrubs, planting flowers, leaf removal, and other landscaping tasks. Must possess knowledge of the tools and equipment required and the ability to operate power equipment. Familiarity with lawn and garden chemical applications is essential.

OPERATIONAL SUPPORT:
Assists the Manager with the overall functionality of the department as directed. Collaborates closely with other departmental staff throughout the course of their duties. Utilizes skills and experience to expedite maintenance requests and special projects. Responsible for paperwork, record-keeping, and inventory management as required. Monitors and identifies fire and safety concerns related to each facility. Works with the Manager towards achieving maintenance operational goals, both short- and long-term. Must be physically capable of lifting heavy items, working from heights, and knowledgeable in operating various hand tools and power equipment. Involvement with organizational transportation, vehicle inspections, and maintenance as directed. Availability for overtime as needed. Full-time employees will provide on-call coverage and 24-hour availability for emergencies when scheduled.

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Preferred experience or knowledge in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, basic computer skills, and familiarity with operating various hand tools and power equipment, janitorial duties, snow removal, and mowing. However, willing to train the right candidate.
