Position Overview:
Wood is seeking a Fixed Equipment Reliability Engineer who will play a crucial role in ensuring adherence to reliability program standards for site fixed equipment and components.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor and maintain process and equipment performance to meet reliability targets while proactively identifying potential issues.
2. Communicate technical challenges and opportunities in terms of business risk, providing a comprehensive 'Case for Action' that includes proposed solutions and mitigations.
3. Conduct thorough root cause analyses to investigate equipment failures and devise effective solutions.
4. Lead reliability investigations, ensuring the implementation of action plans.
5. Develop and implement predictive and preventative maintenance strategies, ensuring timely execution of the fixed equipment ITPM program within budget.

Collaboration and Consultation:
Engage with internal technical experts, vendors, and external consultants as needed. Conduct vendor shop visits and oversee repairs.

Site MOC Support:
Assist in the Site Management of Change (MOC) process, including reliability assessments of new or modified equipment designs and adjustments to fixed equipment care plans.

Action Plan Development:
Formulate action plans to achieve desired outcomes, including recommendations for addressing emerging issues as part of the 'Bad Actor' Process. Collaborate with Asset Leaders and the Reliability Manager to prioritize fixed equipment/system repairs that impact reliability.

Training and Development:
Establish a strategy for fixed equipment reliability training and knowledge sharing; create and deliver training programs to enhance the technical skills of the reliability, maintenance, and operations teams.

Networking:
Connect with other manufacturing sites to exchange best practices and identify initiatives focused on piping systems to enhance reliability.

Regulatory Compliance:
Provide necessary technical data to regulatory bodies and conduct technical reviews of engineering projects. Collaborate with OEMs and project teams on the specification and selection of new equipment, participating in factory acceptance tests for new installations as appropriate.

Qualifications:
Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of fixed equipment and components, including pressure vessels, piping systems, boilers, and relief devices, with proficiency in design, analysis, troubleshooting, and maintenance practices.
Reliability Engineering Knowledge: Familiarity with reliability engineering principles, methodologies, and tools, including reliability analysis techniques, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), root cause analysis (RCA), and condition monitoring techniques to minimize predictable failures and production downtime.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential for identifying and resolving reliability issues, including data analysis and risk assessments.
Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills are vital for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, including maintenance technicians, engineers, and management, ensuring clear communication of technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement Mindset: A proactive approach to learning and improvement is crucial, with a focus on identifying opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and enhancement of equipment reliability.

Education and Experience:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering is required, along with API 510 certification; API 570 credentials are preferred. A minimum of 10 years of experience with Fixed Equipment in the chemical industry is essential. Experience with Pressure Vessel Software (PV Elite, Inspect, Unity, SketchUp, Blender, etc.) is advantageous.

Additional Skills:
Proficiency in reliability tools such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and condition monitoring techniques. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail. Proven experience in troubleshooting various systems, capable of creating actionable plans and delivering results within expectations. Ability to work independently and lead team objectives effectively.

Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as PE, Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), or Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) are a plus.
