Position Overview:
Wood is seeking a dedicated Fixed Equipment Reliability Engineer to ensure adherence to reliability program standards for site fixed equipment and components.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor and ensure that processes and equipment meet reliability targets while proactively identifying potential issues.
2. Articulate technical challenges and opportunities in terms of business risk, providing a 'Case for Action' that includes mitigation strategies and proposed solutions.
3. Conduct thorough root cause analyses to diagnose equipment failures and devise effective resolutions.
4. Lead reliability investigations, including the implementation of action plans.
5. Develop and maintain predictive and preventative maintenance care plans, ensuring timely execution of the fixed equipment ITPM program within budget.

Collaboration and Consultation:
Consult with internal technical experts, vendors, or external consultants as necessary. Conduct vendor shop visits and oversee repairs. Support the Site MOC process, including reliability approval for new or modified equipment designs and changes to fixed equipment care plans.

Continuous Improvement:
Formulate action plans to achieve desired outcomes, including recommendations to address emerging issues as part of the 'Bad Actor' Process. Collaborate with Asset Leaders and the Reliability Manager to prioritize fixed equipment/system repairs that impact reliability.

Training and Development:
Establish strategies for fixed equipment reliability system training and knowledge support. Create and deliver training sessions to enhance the technical capabilities of the reliability, maintenance, and operations teams.

Networking:
Engage with other manufacturing sites to exchange best practices and identify programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing piping system reliability.

Regulatory Compliance:
Provide technical data to regulatory agencies as required and conduct technical reviews of engineering projects. Collaborate with OEMs, unit, and project teams on the specification and selection of new equipment, participating in factory acceptance tests for new installations as appropriate.

Qualifications:
Technical Expertise: Profound knowledge of fixed equipment and components, including pressure vessels, piping systems, boilers, and relief devices, along with proficiency in design, analysis, troubleshooting, and maintenance practices.
Reliability Engineering Knowledge: Familiarity with reliability engineering principles, methodologies, and tools, including reliability analysis techniques, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), root cause analysis (RCA), and condition monitoring techniques to minimize predictable failures and production downtime.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential for identifying and resolving reliability issues, with a focus on data analysis, risk assessments, and effective solution development.
Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills are vital for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, including maintenance technicians, engineers, and management, as well as conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement Mindset: A proactive approach to learning and improvement is crucial, with an emphasis on identifying opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and enhancement of equipment reliability.

Required Qualifications:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, with API 510 certification required and 570 credentials preferred. A minimum of 10 years of experience with Fixed Equipment in the chemical industry is essential. Experience with Pressure Vessel Software (PV Elite, Inspect, Unity, SketchUp, Blender, etc.) is advantageous. Proficiency in reliability tools such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and condition monitoring techniques is necessary. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to create actionable plans and deliver results are critical. Candidates with relevant certifications, such as PE, Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), or Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), are preferred.
